FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  HOW TO ACCESS AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY

PACT (People Acting Together for Community) is offering a workshop in two locations to provide information to individuals and organizations regarding housing. The process to access housing—eligibility, income limits, applications, waiting lists—will be presented.  There is no charge for attending.

December 19, 2016

Our county faces an affordable housing crisis. Miami and Hialeah have been identified as the worst cities to be a renter in the United States. Two out of three renters in our communities pay more than 30 percent of their income on housing; and, one in three spends more than 50 percent of their income for a place to live.

Are you or someone you know struggling to find an affordable place to live in Miami-Dade county?  There are many resources out there, but they can be difficult to navigate and often you may not even be aware they exist.

This community-wide workshop is designed for those in need of housing, counselors, and anyone who needs an understanding of how to navigate the complicated system of accessing housing. Join PACT congregations and over 20 housing experts at one of these locations on January 9th OR 10th:

NORTH Miami-Dade: Monday, January 9th, 7 – 9 p.m., Cathedral of St, Mary, 7485 NW 2nd Ave, Miami 33150

SOUTH Miami-Dade:  Tuesday, January 10th, 7 – 9 p.m., Church of the Ascension, 11201 SW 160th St. Miami 33157
